Under the direction of a pharmacist, the pharmacy technician performs pharmacy-related functions, in compliance with department policies and procedures that provide optimal pharmaceutical care.

Qualifications:

· Candidate must be state certified, national certification preferred.
· Candidate must have 1+ years of experience.
· Candidate must respect confidentiality of patient data.
· Candidate must have understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
· Candidate must have knowledge of medication brand and generic names.
· Candidate must have knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems.

Responsibilities

· Enter all new prescription into pharmacy system.
· Run daily reports.
· Oder and maintain inventory of medications.
· Deal with patients in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
· Fills and refills prescriptions.
· Conduct month-end inventory count of all insulin and medications.
· Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy.
· Other duties as assigned
